Bleak, grey and raining

I am at work writing my first entry.  I work for a large law firm on Fleet Street and I am quite sure they would appreciate me spending my time on a different project, but there you go.

On moving to London I really wanted to work on Fleet St - it’s famous and it’s busy and it’s respectable.  Now that I do I guess I view it as just part of my daily routine.  However sometimes when I walk down Fleet St late at night I can see St Paul’s Cathedral all lit up, I then cut down Whitefriar’s St and down to the Victoria Embankment look down the Thames to the Eye and Parliament and Charing Cross Station.  It’s these parts of London that I appreciate so much.  Also the thing I love about London is it can be so ordinary to someone that works and lives in the city but sometimes…. say crossing one of the bridges from North to South and seeing the magnificent views or walking through Notting Hill on a Sunday when the sun is out and you are surrounded by fantastic shops and bars… I dunno it just makes me feel lucky to live in the city.

Wow… I am not really sure what happened there but I went into a big one! All I planned on saying was tonight is going to be mega quiet at work as England are playing football and therefore the whole building will be deserted.  I however will be sat at my desk hating football with a passion!

Then on my way home I will get off the Underground at Westminster and step over all the drunks to catch my bus back to Brixton, where Vicky (who also writes on here) will be waiting at the flat with some toast and tea for me - that’s a total hint because I know she will be reading this later.

Well I am off to do something now, I guess I should really be working at work.
