Oxala

Time to share with you one of my greatest loves. There is a group of musicians who hail from one of Europest finest and most graceful cities, Lisbon.

They’re called Madredeus, which means Mother of God. The music is quite simply sublime. Teresa Salgueiro’s voice and undoubted graceful beauty lift this ensemble to awhole new level. Babyshambles they ain’t. I have just found out that they’re playing just one gig in London this summer at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday May the 29th.

If just one more person goes through reading this then I’ll be a happy man. I have seen them play now fur times, twice here and twice earlier in Madrid but never ironically in the two years I lived in Lisbon :-( Have a listen to some of their tracks and if you can undertsand Portuguese better still.

Adeus amanha.
