I got my first Passport age 24.
I didnt get a copy of my birth Certificate till I was 22, or a medical card till I was 24 … I dont think I had any form of ID ( apart from an out of date Newham library card) till I got the birth certificate and I never had a problem with anything, including the benefits system….

I doubt this will change anything. as long as you know your NINO by heart, you dont need require any form of identification, Im proof of that. I only bothered paying out for the other stuff because I wanted to go on holiday.

They ain’t going about it right, but is a standard ID card such a bad thing? Think of it as a combination driving license, oyster card, passport, etc. Unfortunately, the current government plan is just another piece of crap plastic to fit in one’s wallet…
