The Ship near Wandsworth Bridge

After an unsuccessful morning spent trying to buy an air-conditioning unit for our office (they are sold out almost everywhere – if anyone knows a good place to pick one up let me know), my boss took us to The Ship next to Wandsworth Bridge for lunch. This is a great pub, especially on a sunny, uncrowded Monday lunchtime. There is: Youngs beer, a very beautiful (Spanish?) and happy barmaid, a big parilla-style BBQ grill, a colonial Caribbean summerhouse, a tannoy system to tell you when your barbeque food is ready (you can get them to use your name for novelty -“Tom, your food! Come get it! Tom!”), and views across the river (although admittedly a Curry’s electrical store dominates the vista). Check it out if you are ever in the area.

The Alma Mata (?) near to Wandsworth Town station. I wonder if the ‘Spanish’ woman is called Maria?

They are owned by the same guy so maybe Maria works at both. As most Spanish girls are called Maria I should think that is a very good guess. Or do you know her?
