Builders up the Butt

This is what the view out of my window looked like just a week ago. I love my 100 year old building in Covent Garden. And the fact that the windows are not double glazed and take a bit of muscle to get them open doesn’t really bother me.
But, Citiwest Homes (aka, The Council) have decided that the windows need looking after. Now here’s a bunch of hearsay: neighbor Jim says that the works are costing the Concil and owners just over £300,000. Owner Alex says that the repairs have been forced upon the owners, and that they are to pay between £4,000 and £8,000 each. When owner Alex asked Builder X what kind of work was being done, Builder X replied: “We’re drilling out the worm holes and filling them in with some really, really good filler.”

Since my view now looks like this, and (sue me) I’m a late riser so the builders screaming “effing this and effing that and did you get any ponani (sp?) last night?” is causing me great annoyance, I intend to investigate this super duper filler. I will keep you posted.
