Sit on Dustin’s warm seat

From the Rat and Mouse (a great little London property blog):

Apparently, Dustin Hoffman’s having a clear-out at his London home (in Kensington we believe). Forty-two antiques from the property will go on sale at Christie’s on March 7.

Sounds expensive…my recommendation for getting some great cheap furniture (rather than something that’s halfway to the skip when you buy it) is Criterion Auctioneers on Essex Road. Go any time and pick what you like and your maximum bid; the auctioneer will bid for you at the weekly Monday auction and get you the best price they can.

We got a 1940’s bureau (desk/bookcase scenario) for £60 all in!

A Bit of Opera in the Morning

I love popping out to Tescos, passing through the market and being surprised by a bit of opera. Sorry for being a bit sideways. Still trying to work out my video phone.

Pasties in the Market

OK, I have been struggling with this one all weekend. I want to keep it for myself. But then I think: no one really takes our advice anyway, so what does it matter?

You may have seen the West Cornwall Pasty Co. around your posh neighborhoods and in stations. We’ve got one in the Piazza, and I often grab a pasty for lunch and then go to St. Paul’s chruchyard to chow down. They are only three quid, and they will keep you filled for the day.
