Sometimes it’s the little things…

Source, the organic grocer in Richmond, now has a small coffee bar inside.

It’s run by a handful of wonderfully chirpy Australians, who, quite definitively, make the best latte in London.*

I go through Richmond at least twice a week, and now mandate an extra half hour of travel time, purely so I can visit them. If you don’t go through Richmond, it’s a cheap round trip ticket from Waterloo, and it’s right by the train station. Worth the pilgrimage.

*And they do that nifty trick where they draw flowers in the foam.

    Nooooo this can’t be true.

Aussies might do good wines, but coffees?

They must Australian Italians as no one, repeat no one can beat an Illy Coffee. Come to think of it Caffe Pascucci opposite the Royal Academy has a range of coffee that would put many a bar’s wine list to shame for its breadth and complexity of options. Latte? well thats just milk (literally). Now give me a machiatto doppio (sorry for the spelling).

I thought 4 leafed clovers in a Guinness was bad enough ;-)

You’ve got a good argument there. A latte IS just a very, very nice ‘white coffee’. But maybe that justifies why the aussies have cracked it (in this case).

I’m just sayin’, you’ve got to try it. This place knocked off my coffee socks.

Its not my route anymore, but the next time I’m through I’ll give it a try.
